INTRO TO IRISH

Wednesdays, Oct 7, 14, 21, 28, Nov 4, 11, 18 and Dec 2

5:30pm – 7pm on ZOOM, limited to 10 participants.  A second class will be offered if required.

Join múinteoir Renata Rua in our virtual classroom as she demystifies the Irish language.  This class is suitable for anyone who would like to start on the basics, wants to travel to Ireland, or just wants to know how to pronounce those labels on the whiskey bottles. No textbook needed.

For anyone who would like to start on the basics of the Irish language. Wednesdays, 5:30 to 7:00pm, going for 10 weeks. No textbook needed. Dictionaries are optional and will be available to purchase ($15 – $45).

$75 / 6 week session. $100 for following 8 week session – $150 for combo 14 week course. Current membership required.

This class is open to anyone who has completed Intro to Irish at the KCIC or the equivalent elsewhere. No textbook necessary, the syllabus presented will further your skills in speaking, listening, writing and reading Irish.

Renata lived in Ireland for 10 years and studied the language extensively, earning a B.A. in Celtic Studies from University of California, Berkeley, and an M. Phil. in Irish Studies from University College Dublin. She has spent time in the Donegal and Galway Gaeltachts, and organizes Irish Language Immersion Weekends at the Irish Center.
