Whiskey Tasting

October 5, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is the quintessential style of Irish whiskey. But did you know it was originally developed as a way to avoid taxes introduced in 1785? Join us for a fun evening sipping, sampling and learning more pub-quiz-worthy history of this most unique style of Irish whiskey. We’ll sample a total of eight (8) Irish whiskeys, with hearty snacks to help cleanse the palate. Need a bit more incentive? A drawing at the end of the night will send one lucky participant home with a gift of one bottle of Single Pot Still Irish whiskey!

Our man George from Donegal will meet everyone around our wee pub at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy an optional pint of Ireland’s other favorite beverage – Guinness – and then we move upstairs for our “sip and learn” Irish whiskey tasting at 7 p..m. All whiskeys sampled can be purchased that night at a discounted price (thanks to our friends at Cellar Rat), and every participant will also go home with an “Uisce Beatha” whiskey glass. (Uisce Beatha is the Irish translation for whiskey.)
