Hi!  I am so excited that Fiber Follies at the Irish Center now has our own blog.  I am the Chief Knitwit of the group and have been wanting to do this for awhile now.  I know we have an email list, a group on Ravelry, and sometimes we have posts on Facebook.  That is a lot of work to keep up with all of that and so now we have one stop shopping for the group.  The email list and Ravelry will still have a weekly email to update the events for the month and there will still be Facebook posts; however this will be the place to come for all the information you want and need to know about Fiber Follies.

We meet almost every Monday from 3pm-6pm except for Holidays or when the Irish Center is closed.  The first Monday of the month is dedicated to Charity Project night.  We have been given yarn to make hats, scarves, cowls, and headbands.  When the weather turns cold we will start hanging them on the fence at Browne’s Irish Market. If you have yarn you no longer need or want we will take it.  We use acrylic for the charity projects, but will take any and all yarn you want to give us and put it to good use.

We are currently in the middle of a sock class.  Pictures will be forthcoming on the progress.  There will be a post later to talk about classes for 2020 and changes as to how we handle classes.  We do have a Crochet pro in the group as well, so think about what you want to learn next year.

We have two Dishcloth Swaps a year, one in July and one in December.  They are so fun and the creativity knows no limit.  We just chose names for December but look for next years around the first of the year.

If you ever wanted to learn to knit or crochet, have fun (we do eat a lot), make some new friends, or just get out of the house, come join us. We would love to have you.
