Céilí at the Crossroads
http://crossroadsdancekansascity.comCéilí at the Crossroads is a way for Irish dancers to share their love for the craft with the Kansas City community and beyond.
Kansas City natives Kiera O’Boyle, Catherine Barrett, Lauren Peters and Kiernan Markey once fit the profile of your average Irish dancer: they trained competitively from a young age, spending much of their pre-teen and high school years dedicated to perfecting the art of Irish dance. They all retired from competitive dancing before the age of 21, went to college and started careers. But Irish dancing was still something that was very much a part of them.
Because Irish dance was something they could not give up so easily, the women decided to come out of retirement and form a professional Irish dancing group for dancers who face a similar situation of giving up Irish dance once they are unable to compete.
Céilí at the Crossroads was founded in April 2012 as a way for Irish dancers to share their love of Irish dance with the Kansas City community and beyond.Through rigorous training, innovative choreography and traditional céilí dance classes, our goal is to get audiences to clap their hands, stomp their feet and to have a good time in the name of all things Irish!
Please visit us at an upcoming performance or schedule us for one of your own get-togethers, and see for yourself how Céilí at the Crossroads will enkindle your love of Irish dancing in a way you never expected.
