Description

Local genealogy volunteer (and KCIC Board Member) Barbara Scanlon shares her experience and expertise in researching Irish ancestry through a series of interesting and informative workshops, along with individual, one-on-one research sessions. Workshop topics focus on different aspect of genealogy research, and individual sessions benefit those just beginning their search as well as anyone who has their search underway but would like information on getting to the next level.

The Irish Center has wi-fi so participants are welcome to bring laptops, although computers are not required.

Barbara gives genealogy workshops and provides one-on-one genealogy sessions. Barbara has been a member of the National Genealogy Society, 2008 – 2016. Barbara has been studying Irish Genealogy in Salt Lake City under David Rencher AG, CG, FIGRS, FUGA, for the past 6 years. Barbara also attended the Ancestral Connections Irish Genealogy Week-long conference at University College Cork in 2014 & 2016. Barbara was one of the founders of the Brookside Irish Fest and continues as the co-chair of the Genealogy area of the Kansas City Irish Festival.
